Cranberry...

I just love the stitched cranberry and thyme ribbon used on this card. These colors are retiring from Stampin' Up! so this ribbon won't be available after June 30th either (boo hoo!). The cranberry crisp fast became one of my favorite color this year, definitely my favorite red and I'm sad to see it go. But I did get a preview of the new colors and they're very yummy. There will be 6 new colors in the new Catalog released July 1st, and they're all great new choices.

stamps: Wild Rose, Warm Words, Paisley Background
paper: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White
accessories: Cranberry and Thyme stitched ribbon
technique: 2 step stamping

Mixed Bouquet

I made this card with one of my favorite sets on the retired list, Mixed Bouquet. I will be so sad to see this one go!! This card has a background stamped with the Canvas Background stamp, then stamped over that with a smaller flower from the Mixed Bouquet Stamp set. The main flower is stamped with pretty in pink ink and regal rose ink, and the the slit punch was used to create the sides over the image on the regal rose paper.

stamps: Mixed Bouquet, Canvas Background, Sincere Salutations
paper: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Whisper White
techniques: Slit punch holder, background stamping

Thanks so Much...

I made this card with my newest stamp set, Wild About You. I earned this set for free by achieving a demonstrator incentive from Stampin' Up! , one of the cool bonuses of being a demonstrator.

For the background, I started with certainly celery paper and used the Petals jumbo wheel with Certainly celery ink to roll across the bottom. The thank you circle stamp is from the Riveting hostess set. I'm going to miss this, It's my favorite hostess set this year...but I'm sure the new hostess sets will be just as great.

stamps: Wild About You, Riveting, Petals Jumbo Wheel
paper: Certainly Celery, Brocade Blue, Barely Banana, Whisper White
accessories: Dimensional to pop circle off card, circle punches

Polka Dots and Paisleys Gifts

Here are some fun gifts that I made for my last workshop. The container is made from an empty crystal light container. I covered it with Petals and Paisley Designer paper and stamped the "happy" and flowers from the Polka Dots and Paisleys Stamp Set. I used my xyron to adhere the paper. For the lid, I used my giant Marvy circle punch, which just happened to be the right size, to punch the circle. Then I used the thanks stamp from the Riveting Stamp set to stamp the image on the top. The container had candy and a mini stamp inside and was my door prize at my last workshop.

The Tin I found in the dollar spot at Target. I used the slit punch to make the scalloped paper strip from the Petals and Paisley Designer paper which I adhered with Sticky Strip and then put ribbon around the tin for fun. Inside the tin are two cards stamped with the Polka Dots and Paisleys Stamp set, a mini notepad and a cello bag filled with york peppermint patties. This was my hostess gift for my last hostess.

I had tons of fun making these!

Masculine Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I made recently. It's sometimes hard to make cards for guys but most of the guys I know like hunting and fishing so that helps. I found these really fun fish shaped brads at a local scrapbook store and thought they'd be the perfect accent for this card. I punched out the center of the "enjoy your day" stamp from the Riveting stamp set and I put the fish brad inside the circle. For the background I used Doodle This to stamp the swirls. For the main image, I watercolored the image using the aquapainters. I really like how this turned out!

stamps: Summer by the sea, Riveting, Doodle This
paper: Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, Whisper White
accessories: Hemp Twine, Stitched Thyme ribbon, Circle punches, Fish brad (non SU)
techniques: Watercoloring with Aquapainters

Retired list is out!

The retired list from Stampin' Up! was released yesterday. I sent it to everyone on my mailing list but if you want to see it online, click here.

I'm so sad to see some of my favorites go.... some of my favorites that are retiring are:
Fishy Friends
All the Best
Mixed Bouquet
Balmy Breezes
Sparkling Summer

Sigh, But I know there will be many great new sets to replace them! Remember if there is a stamp set on the retiring list you have only until the end of June to order it before it's gone for good, so give me a call or e-mail if you want more info on ordering.
